Men hunt in Aeta society and utilize primarily a bow and arrow and traps. Everyone in Aeta society can fish. The Aeta typically do not accumulate assets and will rather take only what they need when they need it. The Aeta did practice some farming too. The lowland people have turned much of the Aeta's forest into farm however, making their hunter gatherer lifestyle difficult. Also, with the eruption of Mt. Pinatubo many Aeta live in evacuation camps and rely on food donations rather than their foraging. This has caused significant change in the Aeta lifestyle and diet, as the food donated to them is not the same food or of the same variety or quality that they Aeta traditionally eat. Also, contact with the lowland people and relief efforts have caused some Aeta to trade for food and goods.
